The Lake-Lehman Knights are a source of school and community pride for the Lake-Lehman School District in Luzerne County, Pa. With 17 varsity and junior varsity athletic offerings, athletics are an important element of student life throughout the district. Alloy5 was hired to develop a 10-year plan to renovate and expand buildings on the school’s campus.

Starting with extensive building surveys, end-user intake, and district evaluations, a Masterplan began to take shape. With a focus on existing athletic facilities, the study focused on maximizing existing space by creating a commonsense layout for fields and storage buildings.

Alloy5 presented two Masterplan options: one that would maintain existing facilities and upgrade necessary infrastructure and finishes. The second option explored ways to consolidate the three underutilized elementary schools, maintain and upgrade the existing junior and high schools, and utilize more greenspace for athletic expansion.
